About us

Bringing extinct parts back to life.

A part gets discontinued. The mold is gone, the supplier folded, the drawing never existed in the first place. That part isn't lost — it's just waiting for someone to measure it properly.

Manufacturing has changed faster than most people's ability to use it. Scanning, printing, automation and AI all landed at once, and the capability is genuinely remarkable. What's missing is the part where someone looks at your actual problem and tells you which of it applies.

That gap is the reason CyberForge Labs exists. The technology isn't the hard part anymore. Getting access to it is, and knowing what to do with it once you have it is. Most shops with equipment this good are built around aerospace contracts and purchase orders — which works fine if you're an aerospace contractor.

So we take one part or a hundred. A discontinued bracket off a car nobody makes anymore. A concept that has to be real by Friday. A production fixture that needs to hold tolerance through a thousand cycles. Same equipment, same standard, no minimum order.

CyberForge Labs brings reverse engineering out of the enterprise and within reach of everyone.

Who's doing the work

Jeff Petersen

Jeff spent the first five years of his career as a paramedic. That's a job where getting it wrong has consequences you carry with you, and it leaves you with a particular relationship to the question will this hold? — one that doesn't go away when the work changes.

He left the field in 2012 for technology, and has spent the decade and more since translating complicated systems for large organizations, much of it serving the Fortune 100. That's the same gap described above, approached from the other side: the capability exists, and someone has to make it make sense for the person who actually has to use it.

Engineering pulled him back. CyberForge Labs is what happens when someone who genuinely enjoys a hard part problem gets to solve it directly, without four layers of process in between.

How we work

Three things we don't compromise on

01

Authenticity first

Honest cost, honest timeline, honest answer about whether we're even the right shop. If a part shouldn't be printed, we'll tell you. If someone else is better set up for the job, we'll tell you that too — and we'd rather lose the work than take money for a part that fails in six months.

02

Business is still human

The moment profit comes before the person in front of you, the partnership starts decaying — quietly at first, then all at once. We'd rather have a customer for ten years than a good quarter, and those two goals conflict more often than most companies admit.

03

Everyone wins at the handshake

You should walk away feeling like you got the better end of the deal. That isn't generosity and it isn't a discount — it's the only version of this that's still working in five years, when you need a second part and already know who to call.

“Keep Austin Weird was never really about being weird. It was about backing the people down the street instead of whatever chain moved in. That's still in my DNA as an Austinite.”

We're a local shop and we intend to stay one. Ship a part in from anywhere in the country and we'll take good care of it — but if you're in town, come by. Seeing a part in person usually saves us both a round of emails, and it's more fun than a form.
